About this micro-credential

This micro-credential recognises the ability to select, adapt and design Extended Reality (XR) applications for vocational education and training in line with pedagogical objectives and real training contexts. It reflects competences in understanding XR development workflows, aligning technological solutions with learner needs, and creating XR-supported learning experiences linked to vocational outcomes. It also validates the capacity to apply XR in sector-specific contexts, while evaluating its usability, pedagogical effectiveness, ethical implications and contribution to continuous improvement in VET systems.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the main stages involved in developing and adapting Extended Reality (XR) learning applications for vocational training.
  • Select XR solutions according to learning outcomes, feasibility, learner profiles and training contexts.
  • Design or adapt simple XR learning experiences that remain pedagogically coherent and responsive to vocational needs.
  • Recognise how Augmented Reality (AR) can support timber prefabrication training, including assembly logic, safety and quality awareness.
  • Evaluate XR learning tools in terms of usability, pedagogical effectiveness, ethics and continuous improvement.

Competency standards

  • Understanding of Extended Reality (XR) development and adaptation for VET Ability to understand the main XR ecosystems, tools and workflows used to develop and adapt XR applications for vocational education and training.
  • Selection and pedagogical adaptation of XR solutions Ability to select and adapt XR solutions according to pedagogical objectives, learner needs, training contexts and institutional capacity.
  • Design of XR-supported vocational learning experiences Ability to design XR learning experiences aligned with vocational learning outcomes, learner support and work-based learning contexts.
  • Sector-specific application of XR and Aumented Reality (AR) in VET Ability to apply and adapt XR and AR approaches to support vocational training needs in specific sectors, including timber prefabrication.
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement of XR applications Ability to evaluate XR applications in terms of usability, pedagogical effectiveness, ethics, data protection and continuous improvement.
